Rochelle Navarro

School Director
Rochelle has been with the Lawrence Park School, first as a teacher since 2004, and more recently the School Director since 2021. Rochelle graduated from Mothercraft College of ECE where she worked with children in the Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Kindergarten Programs. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University and has experience working at Sick Kids Hospital, Ontario Science Centre, the School-Aged program at Parkdale Public School and was a supply teacher at Ryerson’s Early Learning Centre.
Rochelle has always had a passion for working with children and enjoys building relationships with each child in her care, and their families. All 3 of Rochelle's children were previous students at Lawrence Park School.
Alana Lougheed
Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education
Preschool Teacher
Alana graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She worked as a Teaching Assistant with the Toronto District School Board for a year prior to Teacher’s College. Alana obtained her Teaching Certificate at St. Andrew’s College in Scotland. After teaching in Edinburgh for a year, she returned to Toronto to teach Grade 4 at the Sterling Hall School. Alana also worked in the Resource Department at the Sterling Hall School and joined the Lawrence Park School in 2008.
Julia Purdy
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education
Toddler/Preschool and French Teacher
Julia graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours B.A. in French Language and Literature. She then went on to obtain her Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. Julia is a qualified teacher at the Primary, Junior, and Intermediate levels and has additional qualifications in Special Education and French. She worked at the Toronto District School Board for 2 years as well as the Sterling Hall School for 5 years. Julia has been teaching at Lawrence Park School since 2007.
Danielle Kupfer
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education
Kindergarten Teacher
Danielle joined the Lawrence Park School in the fall of 2012 and helped create and implement the first full day kindergarten program, at LPS in 2013. Danielle graduated from the first cohort of the Concurrent Education Program at the University of Toronto and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, with a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior) and an Honours Bachelor of Arts (Major in Sociology, Minors in Urban Education and Child Development). Danielle also completed additional qualifications for Kindergarten Part One. She returns after an extended leave with her daughter Pippa.
Stephanie Greffe
Bachelor of Arts, Registered Early Childhood Educator, Masters of Teaching,
Toddler Teacher
Stephanie graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. She then went on to the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto and completed her Master’s degree in Teaching. Stephanie has always had a passion for working with children and has experience with a variety of age groups. Stephanie has worked in classrooms, child care centres, the Ontario Science Centre and Community Centres during her placements at both Ryerson and U of T. Stephanie started working at Lawrence Park School in 2018 and is returning after a maternity leave.
Bernadette Mabalot
Bachelor of Science, Registered Early Childhood Educator
Toddler Teacher/Afternoon Preschoool Teacher
Bernadette received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in the Philippines where she worked with children with special needs. Bernadette joined the Lawrence Park School in 2008 as a support staff. In 2019, Bernadette received her Early Childhood Education Diploma with Honours, from George Brown College. She transitioned in the Toddler and Preschool Programs with ease and took on a role of a Resource Teacher. She is the Health and Safety Representative for our school and was employee of the year in 2018, which is a true testament to her positive energy and her passion for teaching.
Elisa Lower
Bachelor of Fine Arts
Music and Movement Teacher
Elisa received her Honours degree in Music from York University, majoring in jazz vocal performance. Upon graduation she combined her love of children and music by developing music programs for young children and singing at childcare centres and schools in Toronto. After taking several years to stay home with her two daughters, she returned to teaching and joined Lawrence Park School in 2013. Elisa strives to create a positive, supportive, and joyful environment in her music circles and classes, incorporating movement, drama, self-expression and always lots of fun!
SJ Topp
Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education
Supply Teacher
SJ graduated from Queen's University with a Bachelor of Arts (major in Art History) in 2010, and went on to complete her Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior - Honours with Distinction) at Niagara University in Ontario in 2014. She was a supply teacher at Havergal College after graduating, and also ran their After Care Program, as well as various clubs. She started teaching at Lawrence Park School in 2015 where she had the opportunity to work in both Toddler and Preschool classes, before joining the Kindergarten team in 2017. SJ has a passion for early childhood education, and is thrilled to be back supply teaching at Lawrence Park School after taking time off to raise her two boys.
